FDR Memorial Legacy Committee

NCIL is proud to serve as the fiscal agent of the FDR Memorial Legacy Committee. The mission of the FDR Memorial Legacy Committee is to preserve the memory of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s catalytic involvement in issues of equality and opportunity, as celebrated at the FDR Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The committee will focus on how the Prologue Room of the Memorial, which contains the famed statue of FDR in a wheelchair and a quote from Eleanor, informs the experience of the entire Memorial, enhances the understanding of FDR and his leadership, and promotes a legacy of equality and opportunity for all people, especially people with disabilities. The committee will work on education and awareness programs, sponsor events and visits, collaborate with schools and other organizations, and press the National Park Service for ongoing care maintenance.
