Well-established not-for-profit human and civil rights organization is seeking Independent Living Advocates to join our Independent Living Services team. Our team provides direct services to people with disabilities in the areas of peer-to-peer support, independent living skills training, individual advocacy, information and referral, support for moving out of institutional settings into the community, and assistance for young people with disabilities moving into adulthood or post-secondary education. Ideal candidates will have disability life experience. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated record as a creative problem-solver with a lifelong learning/teaching approach to the collaborative work our agency does. The candidate will have a passion for promoting independence, choice, and freedom for people with disabilities; share our agency’s vision of a fully integrated and accessible society for all people with disabilities; and, bring energy and enthusiasm to the disability rights movement.
