Header: Congressional Letterhead July 29, 2021 Dear Friends: My name is Frank J. Mrvan and I am the Representative for the First Congressional District of Indiana. I appreciate steadfast dedication of all of the members of the National Council on Independent Living and your commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities. I look forward to meeting with you in-person during your future events. As a Freshman Member of Congress, I am grateful for all of the opportunities to communicate with people and groups, and learn about their legislative priorities in Congress and how we can work together to improve access to affordable healthcare, good-paying job opportunities, educational resources, and reliable transportation. In my previous elected official position as a township trustee in Indiana, I was honored to be able to assist members of the disability community with a Dial-a-Ride program, and believe that we must do more, at both the local and federal level, to create an accessible and wide-reaching public transportation system that all individuals can utilize for a fruitful and productive life. As we recognize this month the 31st Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act by George H.W. Bush in 1990, let us recommit to taking action on behalf of individuals with disabilities, and always being attentive and mindful to their perspectives and experiences. I look forward to staying in touch and wish you all a successful and productive annual conference. Sincerely, Frank J. Mrvan Member of Congress
