The 2026 Annual Conference on Independent Living is scheduled for July 20-23, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Committed volunteers are critical to its success.

Job Descriptions

Rally & March Volunteer: Distribute water and signs, direct marchers, and collect trash before, during & after rally. 

Door Keeper: Responsible for watching the doors during the Exhibit Fair before the Awards Luncheon and not allowing attendees in until ready.

Photo Booth Assistant: Assist at the Photo Booth during the NCIL Reception.

Registration Desk Volunteer: Greet attendees and provide registration support. Create nametags, process registration forms and replenish bags / materials.

ALD Volunteer: Greet attendees, provide and collect Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) to registrants, take ID and fill out sign-up sheet. Sanitize items before giving to another attendee.

DIY Poster Kit Volunteer: Assemble Do-It-Yourself Poster Kits on Tuesday, July 21.

Incentives

  • If you volunteer 5-9 hours, half of your registration fee is waived / reimbursed.
  • If you volunteer 10+ hours, your full registration fee will be waived / reimbursed.

Deadline

This opportunity will end when all shifts are filled. Applying to volunteer does not guarantee hours will be available. The schedule will be distributed to everyone who signed up via the online form. The individuals who respond with the desired shifts will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
