We work tirelessly to remove barriers, provide resources, and educate communities on disability issues, fostering a more inclusive society.

We are seeking a dedicated Community Integration Specialist to collaborate with individuals with disabilities, local organizations, and the community at large. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in breaking down barriers to full inclusion and integration, along with a passion for educating the community on disability issues.

Key Responsibilities: Provide core Independent Living services to individuals with disabilities, and the community.

  • Provide independent living skills training to individuals and groups; Peer Mentoring to individuals; transition services to residents in institutional care and youth; advocacy on disability related issues and Information and referral.
  • Public speaking engagements to raise awareness and educate the community on disability-related topics.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment through advocacy efforts and community engagement initiatives.
  • Utilize computer literacy skills to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Network with community agencies, forging partnerships to enhance services and support for individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with or personal experience with disabilities, along with a demonstrated sensitivity to disability-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse individuals and organizations.
  • Knowledge of disability rights, federal and state laws.
  • Experience in public speaking and conducting educational workshops or presentations.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Reliable transportation for travel within the coverage area.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization, with a passion for promoting inclusion and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.
