Organization: The New York Association on Independent Living (NYAIL) is a state-wide, non-profit organization, working with Independent Living Centers (ILCs) across the State to eliminate physical, communications, attitudinal, and other barriers for people with disabilities. NYAIL members are ILCs, consumer controlled, cross-disability providers of advocacy, services and supports to people with disabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Employment Project Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a new Subminimum Wage to Competitive Integrated Employment (SWTCIE) Project funded by Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation Services (ACCES-VR) in collaboration with ILCs in six counties across New York State. Under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, employers with 14c certificates are permitted to pay individuals with disabilities less than minimum wage at facility-based employment settings often referred to as sheltered workshops.
